Through the Dakota Access Pipeline protests Steffanie conducted research onthe cultural and social contexts surrounding the larger debate. Steffanie was reminded of the environmental and social injustices that continue to plague natives despite national benefits from many aspects of these cultures and wove this piece on behalf of the native weavers who have been doing so for centuries. It is imbued with the bold hues and otherworldly landscape of the South West where so many modern day Native American weavers reside.
20% of proceeds from this piece will be donated to http://www.ienearth.org/
